Just a Card

Nothing fancy here - no pearls, lace, coloring, distressing or special techniques! Not even any embossing!! Yikes! Just a couple of SU punches, In Wilderness SU stamp set, and some CTMH papers. Oh, plus a little baker's twine, button, and dimensionals. But all in all, I really like it. Of course I love that fabulous image but also really like the patterned paper I used too. If you can't see it on the photo, click it and get a little larger version. I think this will make a nice card for a guy.

This is for the sketch challenge over at The Paper Players. If you haven't checked that out yet be sure and do so. So much inspiration from the DT and they already have so many pretty entries. I also found a challenge (new to me) over at Top Tip Tuesdays. The theme for this one is "nature inspired". Be sure and check out both of these wonderful challenges.

DTD Blog Hop

Well folks, it's the last Wednesday of the month and that can only mean one thing! It's time for the Dude Time Doodles BLOG HOP! I can already tell you it'll be alot of fun with all the new release images from Boni's STORE. So much inspiration from the Design Team members and you'll want to be sure and check all of them out - and leave a little love. One of the DT will be the Mystery Hostess - and one lucky commenter will receive one of the new release images free or another image of their choice.

In case you get lost along the way, here's a list of all the stops on the Hop!

Lynn (that's me)

Crystal (Guest Designer)

Be sure and stop by all these wonderful blogs today and prepare to be inspired!

You next stop of the list is CHRISSY

Now on to my card......."Dale Isenhardt" is one of the new release images from Boni's STORE and you just gotta love him! He's all decked out in his racing gear and looks like he just won "the big one"! This is such a fun image and would be great for one of the "dudes" in your life that had just accomplished something extra ordinary! Be sure and check out this new release - and all the rest!

Senior Citizen Rabbit

Everytime I see this image and sentiment from Bugaboo I just HAVE to laugh! This will be an Easter card for my brother in law. He's 73 years old and has CRS (can't remember ______!) He's always been this way - or at least as long as I've known him. I really think he'll get a kick out of the card - even with all the pink and the flower!

This is for the challenges at Bugaboo (monochromatic plus three buttons) and the Sweet Stop (sketch).

(WOW - now this was really a short post)!! Am I losing my touch or what!

Thanks for stopping by..............

Celebrate Spring

The challenge over at Stamps R Us is themed Celebrate Spring! You still have one week left to submit your creations - so pop on over there and enter today for a chance to win some wonderful images from Tiffany Doodles.

I used some Pacific Point paper along with some patterned paper I had in my stash. Even though you may not be able to see it I used an embossing folder also. The image (Wildflowers in a Pitcher from Tiffany Doodles) was colored using Prisma pencils and baby oil. (I'm still practicing with those pencils)! The small butterflies were completed using the Beautiful Wings die from SU.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes.....I'm just really taking everything slow and on a day to day basis I'm afraid. The last couple of nights I've actually slept ALL NIGHT!!! That's really been a "plus" as I'd only been getting about two or three hours of sleep a night - for over a month now! I guess that means it's starting to feel somewhat better! YES! I'm due up for another injection though on Tuesday so we'll see how that goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me! (I do have a post scheduled for Wednesday this coming week - it's the Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop - so stayed tuned for that one.)

I really appreciate all your thoughts and comments - they mean so very much to me.

Thanks for stopping by...............

Out of Commission

Just a short note to let everyone know I'll be out of commission for several days. At least I'm hoping it's only for a short time anyway. I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck for over a month now and it's finally starting to affect my shoulder and arm alot - and it's not good! It's making it very hard to type and I've just had no desire to create anything. I will catch up on my commenting as soon as possible but just not up to the task right now.

Party Hearty

Hope everyone is having a great Friday - and looking forward to an even better weekend!

This little lady is jumping for joy and celebrating a fabulous birthday! The image is from Art Impressions and I just love it! I used some Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink card stock along with some unknown DP that I had in my stash. The sentiment is from SU Party Hearty. Now, on to the coloring of this little doll.......I'm STILL practicing with my Prisma Pencils and thought I did "ok" on this one. Just trying to get some shading and all that down pat...maybe someday! I added some of those tiny little pearls to the scallop edge and then used some baker's twine on the button.

I'll be entering this into a new challenge site that I found - Art Impressions Stamps (to use punches on your creation - and I used two different SU punches)! I'm very excited about finding this challenge as I love the images from Art Impressions - especially the "oldies but goodies". Could that mean I REALLY am old now!!!!! Um...maybe I'll just say I have old friends instead!

Thanks for stopping by............

DTD Inspiration and a Twist

It's the third Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for the Inspiration Challenge over at Dude Time Doodles. We're not only challenging you to create something using the inspiration photo - but to also make it an easel card! The rules are very simple. Use the inspiration photo as your starting point and create an easel card with it. Then head over to Dude Time Doodles and enter your creation. You're not required to use a Bonibleaux image but it always makes us happy when you do. It MUST be a masculine themed card as it's all about the Dudes! Use the Inlinkz at Dude Time Doodles and submit your creation. You have one week to link up your project and the Top Blog Winner and Top Three will be posted next week. So head on over to Dude Time Doodles and check it out today!

Since St. Patrick's day is right around the corner (like tomorrow!) I decided to use this cute little image from Boni's STORE. His name is Shamus and isn't he just the happiest little fellow you've seen today! I colored him with Copics and framed him in a Nestie circle. On the inside I used the piece of ribbon and bow to prop up the card and added a few "gold coins".

Be sure and check out Dude Time Doodles and don't forget to submit your creation.

Digging in the Dirt

Well, spring has almost arrived in South Texas. I say "almost" because there's always that chance of one more cold front sneaking in from up north. We don't usually plant our garden until the first week in April - just to be on the safe side. But right now the weather is gorgeous so I just had to make a card with this little image (J.J. Gardening) from Bugaboo. She really is a cutie all decked out in her little dress, boots, and gloves. This is NOT how I dress though when I'm digging in the dirt and putting in a garden!!!

I used some Real Red, Daffodil Delight, white, and black textured card stock along with some DP from Recollections. I colored J.J. using several SU markers and some Prisma pencils. The bow did not come out like I wanted at all....looks rather flat! I'm just going to blame that on flimsy ribbon though! I received the little "seed" button from Maria (thanks again).

The Loch Ness Monster Sighting

Yep, Nessie has surfaced! When I first saw this image from Dude Time Doodles by Bonibleaux Designs I really wasn't sure if it was "Nessie" or the "Creature from the Black Lagoon"!! After determining who it was I colored the image with Prisma pencils and used some Ballet Blue and Creamy Caramel card stock-along with Paper Studio DP.

Now honestly......is this just not one of the cutest images you've ever seen?? It was so much fun to use and to come up with a sentiment for! Just think of all the possibilities!!

AND IT CAN BE YOURS FOR FREE for a limited time only!!! Yep, head over to Dude Time Doodles and grab this precious image, create, and enter it for a chance to be a Guest Designer for Dude Time Doodles!

Hope this put a smile on your face.....and thanks for stopping by..........

CAS and a Butterfly

A very clean and simple card today but I think it turned out rather nice. And yes, it's ANOTHER red, black and white card again! For some reason I'm really hung up on that color combo right now. The DP is some that was given to me by Maria (thanks again) and it just really has a pretty pattern to it. The butterflies were cut using the Beautiful Wings die from SU. The sentiment, also from SU, is from the set Three Little Words. Lately it seems the photographs of my cards are not coming out very good. So, I attempted to take this one at a slightly different angle. Not sure I like that look and will have to play around some with the camera to see what I can come up with.

Hope everyone is having a great week and thanks for stopping by.............

Oh, before I forget.....Dude Time Doodles has a FREEBIE today. Head over there, snag the freebie, create, and enter.........and YOU could be the next Guest Designer for Dude Time Doodles!!!
I'll be entering this in Karen's Doodles Challenge - CAS with one eye catching detail.

Once again - thanks for stopping by......

What's Cooking?

The Stamps R Us Challenge blog is what's cooking right now! Come on over and join in on the fun. Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo...who will be offering a very generous prize package to one lucky winner. The theme of the challenge is "In the Kitchen" so head on over and enter today. You have two weeks to submit your entry. The winner and top three entries will also receive a badge to go on their sidebar.

This little fellow, from Bugaboo, is called Chef Pierre Platter and isn't he a dandy one! I used some Cherry Cobbler, black, and white card stock and some Paper Studio DP. I also used my Sanded (SU) background stamp on that one panel. The sentiment was computer generated. It was my intention to do a little stitching on this card - but it just didn't happen.....oh, well.......

I'll be entering this is the following challenges: One Stop Craft Challenge ( to use black, white, and one other color) and the Catch the Bug Challenge blog (anything goes).

Thanks for stopping by........and be SURE and check out the Stamps R Us Challenge blog today!

Button Birthday

I actually made a card very similar to this not long ago - and thought I'd throw another one at you today! Even though it started out as being a masculine card, I really think it could be used as a "male-ish" or a "female-ish" card!!

I used a piece of fabric that I had left over from making a tote bag last summer. The card stock is Very Vanilla and Wild Wasabi from SU. The sentiment is from Well Scripted and texturz plate also from SU. The button - well, who knows where that came from - it just sort of "appeared" in my stash! It's also a top fold card - which I don't normally do and don't know why.

This is for the challenge over at The Paper Players (fun with fabric).

(Several have asked about my shoulder - I appreciate that so much. It seems that I have a pinched nerve in my neck that's causing all the problems. Makes it very hard to do anything crafty (or anything else) right now - but I'm "hanging in there". Hopefully the doctors can do something about this soon.)

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend...........

More Snow

This little dude image that was created by Bonibleaux Designs probably is thinking that it'll NEVER quit snowing. Meet Eskimo Joe - and you can find him in Boni's STORE. Now on to the subject of snow! We never get any of that pretty white stuff where I live in Texas so I always enjoy seeing pictures of it, etc... And to be honest, I've never even seen a snow shovel! However, you guys up north of here are probably just really, really tired of it by now! But it'll be over with as Spring is on it's way (hopefully!).

This is for the Sketch Challenge that begins at Dude Time Doodles today. The rules are very simple....you have one week to flip the sketch, twist the sketch, work the sketch and submit the sketch. You're not required to use a Bonibleaux Design Digi although it would make us happy if you did. It MUST be a masculine themed card as it's all about Dudes! Be sure and use the InLinkz to submit your creation. Also, check out all of the Design Team members creations at Dude Time Doodles for alot of inspiration and some very cute images. Please welcome Crystal as a Guest Designer for this month.

The sentiment I used is from Create with TLC (who is also the sponsor of this challenge - AND if you're the winner of our challenge, a $10.00 gift certificate to their store could be yours)!!! You may have to enlarge the picture to see the sentiment clearly but it says: Don't sweat the small stuff/Never give up/Believe in yourself! I used ALOT of glitter on this card - in fact, I think even Rambo (our little doxie) still has some on him. I really create a mess when I use glitter!

Thanks for stopping by.......and be SURE and check out the Sketch Challenge at Dude Time Doodles.
