A Bird and Birthday

Quick post here as there's just too much going on in my life right now.  I need to get off this crazy merry-go-round and get to crafting again!!

The first card was actually made for some challenge - and don't even remember what it was but it didn't ever get posted for some reason.!  I used some red scraps and the bird punch and an embossing folder I'd never used before.

This was a quickie for a birthday using a SU image and some retired SU DP.

Not very creative AT ALL, but then again, I just haven't been feeling very creative lately.

Thanks for stopping by.........and have a good weekend.
Lynn

Lynn, these are both so gorgeous, but I cannot tell you how much I like the first. You may well see something similar at mine soon...! xx

Both are adorable! Love the red bird one - the squares remind me of a quilt. Such a bright and fun Christmas card. Love how the letters of the birthday stamp are different colors. I'm thinking I really need that stamp!

I love that sweet bird that you made...it looks so cute all layered up there! The layout of the second card is really lovely...would make a great male card :)

Love these cards, how creative with the bird punch, I have that one, but just never use.....hmmmm....you have me thinking now. I agree with the merry go round. It has been so busy this summer, but in a good way :) Have a great weekend.

Hi Lynn,
Thanks for your ever encouraging comments - you know how to make me feel special for sure.

I did participate in SOS - thanks for the suggestion. Infact I posted today's card too... read the rules to confirm if I could post 2 cards, IQ very low at this time of the night, so could not decipher what I was looking for... never mind, worst comes worst, they will delete my entry and that is not the end of the world for me - LOL!!!

Now to your cards, Lynn, marvel at how smart and neat your cards are... the first one with scraps is elegant to the core and the second one is wonderful as well.

Love,
Monica

I like both of these cards a lot, but I LOVE the second one. I can't tell if it's the sketch itself or the paper, but it all came together perfectly. I love how you colored the stamp to match that DP - did you do that with stamp pens or did you color it afterwards? It's giving me so many ideas on unfinished cards I have laying around - I might have to borrow this design from you!

Hi Lynn, I believe both these cards are very creative. I love the red bird with the red printed squares, so simple but sweet! The birthday card is great, I really love the layout on this one! You can change the colors on this and get so many different "moods" for this. (I mean-good for women, men, kids, etc with different color schemes...)
