Anchors A'Wave

So much for "Anchors Aweigh" when you can go with anchors a' WAVE!  LOL!  Thought I'd jump right in with the nautical fad and make a card using my new stamp set from Paper Smooches.  I also added a new Memory Box anchor die and the DP (also new) from Fancy Pants. That about sums up the card except for the tiny heart I just had to add.

Lately I've been VERY good about purchasing new crafty stuff - and then letting it sit for several weeks before I ever even attempt to use it!  Am I the only one that does this?  I think I need to get a small basket and place all the new things in it and after using it at least twice, move it to my more organized mess.  Sounds like a plan!!!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) and Crafting When We Can (Keep it Simple).

Short post here for whatever reason...........

Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

Wow, I love that new anchor die, Lynn. Haven't seen that one before and it makes a wonderful focal point for this delightful CAS card! Great splash of red in the sentiment.

Very nice CAS card!! Love the added touch of the heart. Lynn, you are not the only one not using those new items. I have tons of them. For me I buy them thinking they are sooo cute. And then I dont' know what to do with them. TFS And have a Great week!!

I totally do that! I covet something forever, and FINALLY buy it...and await its arrival...and then when it actually is in my hot little hands? Bupkis. Nada. ZERO good ideas. UGH! I'm kinda glad to know it's not just me! (Although if you figure out how to fix it, PLEASE let me know!)
I happen to love this - perfect simplicity! the twine on the anchor is just the right amount of 'something' without making it too busy.

Lynn, this is a real cute card. Love the heart and the twine. Your touch of patterned paper is just the right amount of added color. I like your plan for new items. Maybe I'll try that.

I tried putting new stuff in caddy right next to my desk - so it would be the first thing I reach for. It works - sometimes! LOL

I've been noticing that I'm doing that with shoes. I order a bunch online and then when the boxes come - I don't open them! I just tried on the last three pairs I ordered that sat in my craft room for TWO WEEKS! WTH?

But...........I love your card! The little heart on the waves is adorable!

No you are definitely NOT the only one who lets the stuff set (hey, doesn't it have to 'age', like wine?) LOL. Fabulous card. I have that die, and you just motivated me to hunt it up (it's aging donchakno?). Love all the white, lovely pattern paper, and your waves...ahhh...sea breezes fer sure. Great card, love everything about it. TFS & Hugs.

Terrific snippets card Lynn! Love the nautical colours too. I do have a 'must use' basket (or three) for new stuff and find it generally works well. Although sometimes new stuff comes in faster than I can work :)

You linked fine this week too - wahoo!

Hugs, Di xx

Lucky for us that you hopped on the nautical fad, Lynn, because this is AWEsome!!

And I love all the NBUS you used!! Now put them away, LOL! I have the opposite problem, I put them away and then forget about them, so from now on when I buy something, it stays in my line of sight until it's used once. We live and learn what works best, which keeps it intereting!

I do the same thing. I have crafty stuff that I bought 10 yrs ago and never used. Now it's all out of style but if I wait long enough, it'll come back in style. lol. Love the card-very cute use of that anchor.

Wonderful nautical card!! I love the anchor!!
I am so bad at letting my new things sit! I have a basket for my new stamps, but never thought to put the other things in there too... Of course, there is a lot of older stuff that I need to use too!
