A Lot of Bull

No, I won't give you any of my 'bull' today - but will show you the card I made this past weekend.  You really don't want to hear my 'bull' anyway I'm sure.  I guess Jim didn't either since he buried himself in golf and basketball on TV this weekend and gave me a chance to craft a little.

I haven't made a masculine card in so long and really don't mind making them at all.   I used one of the stamps from Mark's Finest Papers (Bold and Free)......a little patterned paper, sponging with Distress Inks, twine, and a few wooden stars - and the card was completed.  The image was colored with Copics.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Speedy Fox and Friends (Brown) and the Mod Squad Challenge (Animal).

Thanks for stopping by.......

A Couple of Quickies

Since I already had that Peek a Boo die from MFT sitting on my desk, I made a couple of git 'er done cards.  This first one is using a flower die from Memory Box.  I wanted to keep it fairly flat for mailing so I just punched a black dot out of card stock for the center.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Following along the same lines as the first card, I added a small Memory Box Poinsettia and gold embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts.

On both of these I fluffed out the flowers - but then decided to sort of smash them down again.  I mean, if it's going through the mail, they're going to be smashed flat anyway so why bother with all the fluff and stuff.  Right!

I'm going to enter the second card in a couple of challenges!  YEA!  The first challenge will be over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  What a doll Di is - and she actually had a tiny poinsettia die like this as a prize there a while back.  I wasn't lucky enough to win it, but it did go on my list of " have to have's".  Glad I got it now.  I'm also entering this over at the Rudolph Day Challenge.  Maureen is also a sweetie and I love playing along with her challenge but usually it slips by me before I can get something created for it.  Not this time though!

Thanks for stopping by.........and have a wonderful weekend!

Back in the Saddle and Some Changes

This card recently went to a very sweet blogging buddy, Nana Connie, who's had a small set-back recently.  I know it's slowed  her down a bit for now but also know she'll be as good as new soon.  That blue you see in the background on here is actually purple (her favorite color) and if I'm not mistaken Connie has the same problems photographing purple and having it come out blue - so guess we're just two of a kind on that one.

The images and sentiment are from My Favorite Things and then I added a fun sun and tiny cloud - and that cute MFT Peek-A-Boo Window die.

Changes.............  I finally realized I've been killing myself trying to keep up with commenting, making cards,  and everything else that has to be done around here - and I can't continue that if I want to keep what little sanity I have left.  I just can't do it anymore and it is what it is.  Sooooo, as you've already noticed, I won't be around every day like I've been in the past to see your wonderful cards.  I will pop in when I can though.  Everything is ok but it's just a busy and stressful time in my life right now.

Thanks for stopping by.........and I appreciate each and every one of you so much.  Remember to SMILE!

No Laughing Allowed!

No laughing allowed at this card!  I see all those beautiful cards with watercoloring and decided that even though I'm not good at that, I have to at least attempt it every so often.

Ok, I gathered up all my supplies.......Watercolors - I've been using a little tin of grade school type watercolors and everyone kept saying to get  the "good" kind and I'd be able to tell the difference.  So, I'm scooting through WallyWorld the other day I noticed they had some watercolors in little tube type deals by Daler Rowney.  Since they were about $3.00 dollars more than the grade school kind, I figured those had to be better!  (Last of the big spenders here you know).  Ok, watercolors - check!  Watercolor paper, embossing folder, card stock, Distress Markers, Stampendous stamp, and SSS sentiment - check!  Little glass of water, paper towel, and even my dollar store palette!  No problems......

I'm ready to set the world on fire........Started with the background.  Holy Moly!  This is not fun....just messy and HARD!   Too much water - pill bugs start to appear.  Not enough water - it just sits there!   Finally managed to salvage this little piece that was passable (pill bugs and all).  Stamped the butterfly and used the Distress Markers for watercoloring that.  I'm pretty sure this is the forth or fifth one I attempted.  Rest got tossed pretty fast.  Cut this one out, stamped it again on the watercolor background, and then popped this up on top of it.  Maybe I'll even try this again someday.......maybe - and yes, I'm sure it would have pill bugs too!!

Thanks for stopping by.........and have a fun weekend.

Is It Snowing?

It's a little hard for me to relate to this snowman since we're expecting temps in the low 80's for the next couple of days - but......I know some of y'all are having snow, so hope you're staying warm!

This is the free image for playing along at From the Heart stamps progressive challenge.  If you didn't play last month and receive the free image you can still find it in the shop there and play along this month.  Fun, and cute image!

Love You Mouse

Just spreading a little love today!

I've had this little House Mouse stamp (Contented Mudpie) forever and never could come up with a good way to use it.  Mainly, I'd just sit and admire it - tooooo cute!  I love the expression on his (her) face.  As I was doing my Valentine's this year I decided to use it and it seemed to work out perfect for a way to tell one of the grandkiddos that I love them.

I'll enter this in the challenge at House Mouse and Friends (Love is all Around) and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Thanks for stopping by............

Green Sneakers

I realize it's super duper clean and simple, however, I can just see Rambo and I hollering at Jim to say Happy Valentine's Day.  Not that he'd hear us anyway though.  This will be for Jim for Valentine's this year.  I've never given him a romantic card at all and don't think he'd expect it this year either.  Gotta keep him smiling.

The stamp is from Art Impressions and is actually one of their 'front and back' stamps.  Using just the 'front' of the stamp, I left off her right hand.  (She's got it on the other side of the little doxie holding him up I suppose).  I'd never carrying Rambo this way though because doxies already have too many back problems.  Anyway, I colored this in Copics and then got down to the shoes......Oh groan!  What color do I use.  Brown probably would have been the color most normal people would use but thought I'd give her a little class and color them green.  I mean, wouldn't everyone LOVE some green sneakers - or do you already have some?!

I used two tiny snippets (the pink heart and the strip of patterned paper down the side on this so think it may qualify for the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.   It's a great challenge and I really wanted to enter a couple of cards this week, but it just didn't happen.  Hopefully I can next week though.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.

Sweets for the Sweet

Everyone is rushing around making Valentine cards right now, and I'm just trying to get some birthday cards done it seems.  I already have all the Valentine's I need but have to come up with I think four birthday cards this week.  Some may never see the light of day on this blog but I'll get them finished anyway.

Just some fun papers and a stamp set from Lawn Fawn......sequins, twine, glossy accents were added.

Thanks for stopping by......
